Interested in Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy as a Psychotherapist?

From dipping your toe in by buying my book, to trying the medicine yourself, training, practicums and supervision; We got you covered.

The key variable in ketamine assisted psychotherapy is the psychotherapy. These medicines fit into our existing work, be it psychoanalytic psychotherapy, DBT, CBT, IFS, mindfulness-focused, somatically based, narrative therapies, all of it. Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP) isn’t a developmental or practice theory requiring a two-year advanced-clinical training/education program, nor a technique driven treatment like EMDR. It is simply a potent, novel, user-friendly tool to incorporate into your existing practice/approach.
Below you will find a load of ways to explore your interested in this tool as a clinician.

Do you learn best by demonstration?

Lots of people do! My former colleague and I created a series of videos to demonstrate various elements of ketamine assisted psychotherapy. We found in our years of training psychotherapists to work in KAP that folx really value a chance to see what KAP actually looks like and how to do it. (note, these videos are included in the program fee for our 6 hour training module)

  • Initial Intake (20 Minutes)
  • Consent to Treatment (7 Minutes)
  • Touch Refusal Exercise (5 Minutes)
  • Medicine Journey Session (16 Minutes)
  • Medicine Journey Session Part II (11 Minutes)

Over an hour of demonstration videos

Ready to try the medicine yourself?

Much can be said about whether or not you “should” try the medicine to work with it as a tool in your clinical work. Certainly, it is strongly encouraged.
My strongest recommendation for clinicians who want to experience the medicine, is to do so in a group, with a practitioner they would like to learn from. There is no greater exposure to a version of how to prepare and facilitate KAP through to integration.

Becoming Your Own Ally: A medicine-supported group experience will allow you to see how I use the material from my book to facilitate change for clients. Besides your own medicine journey experience, you will also have a chance to learn from the KAP experiences of the 9 other participants, many whom are psychotherapists in KAP training.

We are also happy to work with you individually to explore use of the medicine as part of your preparation for working with KAP. With one of our therapists, and in collaboration with yours, we can facilitate multiple journey options for you.

Interested in a supervised KAP practicum/ experience?

It is so uncomfortable trying something for the first couple times, but as psychotherapists we already know that is how we ultimately will learn.
For therapists who have already done some preliminary education in KAP*, we can offer supervised opportunities to work with one of your clients or one of ours.

We also have group practicums opportunities several times a year to join us in facilitating our signature group offering Becoming Your Own Ally: A medicine-supported group experience.

Finding and Making Paths in KAP: Supervision Opportunities

Whether you are in the first months of working with ketamine assisted psychotherapy as a tool in your psychotherapy practice, or have been providing KAP for years, here are some supervision opportunities.

Group KAP Supervision
Psychotherapists will lead this industry in the protocols and methods that are used to work with this novel tool. This group is an opportunity for differently KAP trained and differently leaning psychotherapists to put our heads together and share how we are using this tool with clients.

  • Virtual Every other Tuesday 10 am to 11:30 am
  • Participants enroll for 3-month cycles at a time
  • 9 CEUs included for groups attended
  • Limited to 8 participants per cycle
  • Participants must be trained* in KAP with at least a couple active KAP clients
  • My practice frame is analytically oriented psychotherapy. Group participants will bring their own frames to the group for sharing. Each cycle has included a full array of somatically oriented clinicians, EMDR , DBT, mindfulness practices, IFS, and differently trained a curious therapists.

Case Consultation
Have a case related to KAP you want to discuss? I am happy to discuss a case, or even just answer a million questions about KAP.

Here is who might want to schedule one or two consultations with me:

  • KAP trained and want to think through a case and protocol options
  • Curious if your client is a good fit for KAP and how collaboration would work
  • Need someone to ask questions related to your client that is doing psychedelic work separate from you or with you

Individual Supervision
I also provide ongoing supervision, related to both KAP and my practice frame of analytically oriented psychotherapy.

For any of my supervision and consultation options, let’s start with an email.
