Let’s gather to do witchy things! Lean into the psychology of intentionality, “mind-magic” techniques of manifestation, and the ways ritual creates embodied experience, with a psychotherapist.

We will gather in small groups in my witchy home in Glenside PA. The seasons will determine the topics, which we will explore clinically while engaging in symbolic weaving of intentionality. Definitely woo-woo but also grounded in serious clinical concepts.

I am a pretty serious, rigorous, analytically oriented psychotherapist. But I also really love ritual. It is my clearest path to rich, potent, embodied experience.

As I enter my hag years, I have decided to bring my psychotherapy and witchy intention worlds together. You can still expect me to be deep and thoughtful, weaving in analytic theory. I remain strongly rooted in this world of our wondrous minds and bodies. The addition is environment, community, and symbolic play.

Let’s court goodness together.

Enchanting Our Thresholds: Rituals to Bless and Protect

Doors are the boundaries of our homes. They are a means to let some things in and keep others out. A “welcome” mat tossed at the front door doesn’t say much about what we actually want to welcome, or what we’d rather keep out of our homes, apartments, and rooms.

Wreaths, bells, talismans, charms, horseshoes, mezuzot, bundled herbs, and brooms. For generations, women have found ways to mark their doors, to bless and protect their homes.

We’ll lean into the psychology of intentionality, “mind-magic” techniques of manifestation, and the ways ritual creates embodied experience.

I’m welcoming you across my own threshold, into my home, to learn about and create Threshold Charms to bless and protect your homes. Expect bountiful food and arrays of dried flowers, herbs, bells, and charms for making your hangings. We’ll talk through our associations with the supplies (you know, “What do you think of when you think of lavender?”) and use them to identify what we do and don’t want to invite into our homes. No glue guns here. We’ll be binding, stitching, weaving, and tying our intentions for our homes into being.

Autumn is a threshold: light to dark, warmth to cold, growth to rest. It is most definitely the Season of the Witch. Join me for some Witchy Psychotherapy.

Charms and Spells: Clarifying, Embodying, and Ritualizing Therapeutic Intention

3 CEUs for Social Workers

From agency and insurance treatment plans with operationalized objectives to EMDR targets and positive cognitions, DBT’s life-worth-living goals and values-to-goals action steps, intention-setting in psychedelic therapies, and ACT values work, ours is a field that understands the imperative of intentionality.

What most of us have also learned is that talk alone rarely produces a client who is fully engaged and available for lived, embodied experience. A well-articulated goal can still sit inert in the body. This 3-hour workshop asks what happens when intention is not only clarified but enacted. We’ll draw on the frames the clinicians in the room already use to build and clarify goals, explore how to fill an intention with felt meaning, and demonstrate how ritual gives it weight and staying power.

Together, we will enter ritual space and build our own intentions for the New Year, pooling the room’s collective knowledge of frames, techniques, and tips. As we create spell jars and satchel charms, we’ll survey goal-clarifying strategies from across clinical frames, unpack what each step of the ritual is doing clinically, and explore how to bring it to clients.

Enchanting the New Year: Spell Jars and Satchels

We are forever setting intentions. New Year’s resolutions, fresh-start promises, the quiet vows we make to ourselves at the turn of the calendar. And most of us have learned that naming what we want rarely makes it so. A well-articulated goal can still sit inert in the body.

This gathering asks what happens when intention is not only named but enacted. Ritual gives an intention weight and staying power. It moves a wish out of our heads and into our hands, our bodies, and the room.

Together, we will enter ritual space and build our intentions for the New Year. We’ll open the threshold, give our intentions form through symbolic action, seal them, and explore how to tend them through the year ahead. As we create spell jars and satchel charms, we’ll lean on each other, pooling what we know, witnessing what we each want to call in, and holding it together.

Definitely woo-woo. Also grounded by a psychotherapist, in my witchy home.
